2. What Data We Collect
When you use the Express Launcher extension, the following information is transmitted to CareMetro's internal servers:

3. How We Use This Data
All data collected by this extension is used exclusively for internal CareMetro IT and operational purposes:
- Identifying which practices and users are actively using CareMetro Express
- Troubleshooting technical support issues
- Monitoring deployment and adoption across practice sites
- Diagnosing connectivity or configuration problems by IP and machine
Never This data is never used for advertising, marketing profiling, or any purpose outside of internal IT operations.
4. Data Storage & Access
All data is transmitted over HTTPS to a secure CareMetro API endpoint hosted at portal.caremetro.com and stored in a CareMetro-managed database.
Restricted Access is limited exclusively to CareMetro system administrators. No third parties, vendors, or partners have access to this data.
Data is retained for operational troubleshooting purposes and reviewed periodically for purging. No data is sold, licensed, or shared with any outside party under any circumstances.
5. Local Storage
The extension also stores the following data locally in your browser using Chrome's built-in storage API. This data never leaves your device except as described in Section 2:
- Your configured URL patterns (which pages show the button)
- Practice name and CareMetro username (if entered)
- Express window size and position preferences
- Your Machine ID
6. No Health Data Collected
The CareMetro Express Launcher does not collect, read, transmit, or process any patient health information, medical records, or any data subject to HIPAA. The extension only observes the URL of the page it is running on — it does not read page content.
7. Intended Users
This extension is distributed exclusively to staff at CareMetro-affiliated healthcare practices. It is not intended for general public use. Installation requires a CareMetro account to be of any functional use.
8. Changes to This Policy
CareMetro may update this Privacy Policy as the extension evolves. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
